Snuggle Snowman :)

Here's my little snowman, isn't he so cute?

I'm doing this bible study called "Pathway To Purpose" and there's a chapter in it about the desires of our heart or more simply put, our passions.  It caused me to reflect on the many things I was once passionate about... photography, scrapbooking, poetry, writing & ceramics to name a few and for whatever reason they all kinda went by the wayside.  That is until I was driving down Church Road one afternoon and passed "The Ceramic Barn" a place I used to frequent some 10 years ago.  It looked to be deserted and I wondered if they were still in business, so I made my way home, googled it and found out that they were open but with limited hours.  That Saturday I went back and saw so many projects just waiting to be painted, then that snowman caught my eye.  I gave her the name to inscribe on his belly, she added him to her list and 2 weeks later I brought him home.  He has already gone through phase one, two coats of metallic pearl white (pictured above) & now anxiously awaits some color :)

For me, sitting down in front of a fresh piece of bisque and picking out the colors and accents that will bring it to life is exciting.  I wonder if that is how God felt when he designed us?  And oh the joy it brings, just ask my husband.  Oftentimes, I glance over at him and see him staring at me with a big smile on his face.  It's great to finally have someone who supports me in everything I do, who appreciates all the effort I put into my role as a household engineer & who encourages me to be all that God wants me to be.  Ok so that's a little off topic LOL

So I ask you friends, what are your passions?  Are they still alive or have they been swept under the carpet like many of mine?   I encourage you today to seek the things that bring you joy and make it a point to work them into your day to day life.  Part of the reason my passions went by the wayside was because my path in life changed.  It took some time, but through knowing the Lord, God put a new song in my heart, gave me greater things to be passionate about like worshipping Him, reading His Word, serving my husband, ministering to His people, giving back and being a blessing to others.  I'm thankful though that as I grow spiritually and find more balance in my life, I have the oportunity to work those old passions in with the new ones and bring Him glory.

love & blessings
